Council members said the agreement contained only minor changes from previous contracts, mostly to update language to reflect the city’s new employee handbook and to adjust classifications for one wage item. One negotiator described a delay in finalizing the agreement as due to “some disputes” over specific language and a change in the union’s representative.
Council voted on a motion to suspend the rules and approve the ordinance. The roll-call vote recorded a unanimous 'yes' from council members present. No amendments were recorded at the meeting.
Council did not discuss budgetary details of the agreement at length during the meeting; staff indicated the contract had been reviewed and signed by the union. The ordinance finalizes the terms discussed during recent negotiations and will be implemented according to its effective dates.
