City planning staff on May 20 asked the Liberty Lake City Council to publish a working draft of the housing and community services element of the comprehensive plan and begin outreach with partner agencies and the public.
The draft — developed with the planning commission and consultants — projects the city’s population reaching about 22,000 during the planning period and a total housing need of roughly 5,300 units between 2020 and 2046, of which about 1,000 units have already been built since 2020, staff said.
