Council approves Parks & Recreation HVAC maintenance contract and Mills Trail pedestrian bridge agreement

The Auburn City Council on May 20 authorized two contracts on the consent agenda: a one-year HVAC maintenance contract for Parks and Recreation facilities and an agreement for the Mills Trail pedestrian bridge.
Council approved the HVAC contract with Affordable Comfort Cooling Systems & Plumbing for $15,750. A council member asked whether the new Dean Road Recreation Center system required maintenance during its warranty period, noting the line item for that facility was $850. The Public Works director replied, “So we still have to maintain those systems in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations to for it to be serviceable under the warranty,” and confirmed maintenance will be performed during the warranty period.
The council also approved an agreement with Foresight Group LLC in the amount of $53,500 for the Mills Trail pedestrian bridge, part of an extension of the Town Creek Trail system to connect Moores Mill Road to Wrights Mill Road. Council Member Moore praised the project’s routing and shaded trail experience, saying, “There is a nice map in there of what the Mills Trail is ... I really like this project.” Both items were approved as part of the consent agenda.
