The Green River City Council approved an addendum to the 2020 memorandum of agreement with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to extend the FBI’s occupancy of space in the city building.
Police Chief Sean Stokesmith told the council the 2020 agreement expired April 30 and the addendum would extend the FBI’s use of space for another year while the bureau completes construction of its own facility in Rock Springs. Stokesmith said the FBI needs to remain in Green River “a little bit longer” while it completes the new site.
Councilman Shutran moved to approve the addendum and to authorize the mayor and city clerk to sign the document pending legal approval; a second was recorded and the motion passed unanimously.
No changes to day‑to‑day operations, rent or other terms were discussed in the excerpted record; the addendum was described as a near‑term extension only.
