The Oklahoma County Board of Commissioners on May 20 appointed Jim Holman as the District 3 representative to the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority to replace a departing member.
Commissioners said Holman has ties across the county and relevant experience and highlighted his availability to serve. "He's a District 1 resident, and then has a rapport with the South Chamber ... it's hard when finding an appointment for an at large seat to have somebody who has ties to all 3 districts, and I think Mr. Holman definitely does," one commissioner said.
Holman, who spoke briefly after his appointment, said he had "a lot to learn" and was honored to serve. "I'm honored to be asked and honored to serve, and I appreciate that," he told commissioners.
The motion to appoint Holman was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Commissioners indicated the appointment covers the remainder of the prior member's term; the transcript identifies the replaced member only as "Mr. Alba."
