Safety Harbor code board accepts affidavits of compliance in three cases

The City of Safety Harbor Code Enforcement Board on May 21, 2025 accepted affidavits of compliance and USPS proof of mailing in three old-business cases, formally noting that the properties had come into compliance and closing the matters on the record.

The board accepted compliance affidavits for: CEB-24-0314 (City of Safety Harbor v. Ike Evans, 660 Pine Street); CED-25-0340 (City of Safety Harbor v. Julia Santos and Juana Alejo, 281 Bemis Street); and CEB-23-0249 (City of Safety Harbor v. Benjamin and Ashley Reynolds, 605 Sixth Street South). For each case the city asked the board to accept the board order and the affidavit of compliance along with USPS proof of mailing. The board recorded unanimous approval for each acceptance.

Why it matters: acceptance of an affidavit of compliance indicates the city has received documentation showing the required corrective actions were completed and the board no longer needs to maintain an active enforcement order for those particular matters.

For case CEB-24-0314 (660 Pine Street), the board accepted the affidavit of compliance and proof of mailing and approved a motion to close that case. For case CED-25-0340 (281 Bemis Street), Ms. Myers moved to accept the affidavit of compliance; Mr. Dahl seconded and the motion passed. For case CEB-23-0249 (605 Sixth Street South), the city again offered the affidavit of compliance and USPS proof of mailing; Ms. Myers moved and Mr. Dahl seconded, and the board voted to accept the documentation and close the case. The record shows each motion passed by unanimous vote (7–0) as entered into the minutes.

Following the compliance actions the board noted there were no members of the public present for comment and adjourned the meeting at 6:53 p.m.
