San Felipe-Del Rio CISD facilities staff told trustees on Monday that the Cody Wardlaw gym renovation and district HVAC projects are progressing and that maintenance and operations teams have completed a high percentage of recent work orders.
Facilities director Hector Chapa reported that plumbing for the gym project was expected to finish this week or early next week and that HVAC ductwork installation is underway. He said electrical work is awaiting a temporary hookup from AEP, windows and doors are progressing, and restroom finishings (partitions, mirrors, hand dryers, soap dispensers) remain to be installed. Chapa said the district expects the project to be roughly 80% complete by the June board meeting and that the new retractable bleachers and scoreboard installation is imminent.
Chapa also provided a report of work orders across departments for the previous 90 days: maintenance created 1,024 work orders with a 91% completion rate; technology created 3,720 with a 90% completion rate; transportation created 309 with a 97% completion rate. Department-level breakdowns for 0–15, 16–30, 31–60 and 61–90 day windows were presented during the update.
Board members asked clarifying questions about visible fixtures in photos (LED lights versus fans) and thanked staff for the progress update. No budget votes or formal contract approvals were recorded during the update; the report was informational.
