On classroom technology the board approved purchases recommended by district IT staff: interactive displays from YS Technologies at $1,279 per unit (total $17,766), student laptops from Connections at $5.26 per unit (total $199,888.88), teacher laptops from YS Technologies at $6.89 per unit (total $103,350), and Chromebooks from Wally Computers at $274 per unit (total $172,620). The district reported vetting vendors and selecting models for durability and battery life.
Each motion to approve the listed awards passed by a 5-0 vote. Board members said they appreciated staff vetting on model selection and vendor references, and staff confirmed plans to monitor delivery timelines so devices arrive before the start of school.
