The Revere Board of Education approved a three-year master agreement with the Revere Education Association (REA) covering the 2025–26 through 2027–28 school years, and simultaneously approved salary and benefit changes for administrators and exempt support staff, the board said during its May 20 meeting.
Board President called for a motion on the master agreement and the related administrator/exempt staff adjustments; the motion received a second and passed on a roll-call vote. Board members voiced appreciation for negotiators’ work and for teachers and staff.
Superintendent and board members thanked the negotiating teams. "I just wanted to thank those who were involved in the negotiations," the superintendent said. The meeting record shows board members voting in favor during the roll call.
The agenda item described the master agreement as a three-year contract but the board packet and public remarks did not include the agreement text in full during the meeting. The superintendent and treasurer noted the contract concluded late enough in the budget cycle that the treasurer's five-year forecast will be updated to reflect the negotiated settlement's exact salary and fringe outcomes.
No fiscal line-item details of the agreement were read into the public record during the meeting. The treasurer told the board the forecast will be updated to reconcile forecasted salary and fringe estimates with the negotiated terms and that state budget uncertainty remains a factor in the district forecast.
The approved motion was listed on the meeting agenda as: "Approve the three-year, 2025 through 2028 master agreement with the Revere Education Association" and "approve the salary and benefit changes for all administrators and exempt support staff for the next three years per the terms of the REA master agreement." The board recorded the items as approved.
The district said it will provide contract documents and finalize budget projections reflecting the settlement to the finance committee and in subsequent board materials.
The board also approved a slate of personnel actions and other consent items later in the meeting, but the teacher contract and administrator pay changes were handled at the start of the business agenda and recorded as approved on May 20.
