Mr. Atkinson moved that the board authorize the City of Lubbock to initiate recruitment for the Lubbock MPO executive director; the motion was seconded and the committee recorded the outcome as 5–1 in favor of opening the position. The motion directs the City of Lubbock to proceed with a recruitment process for the MPO executive director.
The committee recessed into executive session to deliberate matters relating to the appointment, employment, evaluation, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee, citing Texas Government Code 551.074. When the committee reconvened to open session, members moved to authorize initiating the recruitment.
