Glynn County opens bids for park maintenance, tree work, pest control and dock repair

Glynn County procurement staff opened bids during a public bid-opening streamed on the county YouTube channel for four county contracts, including pest control services, a tree maintenance and removal multiyear contract, St. Simons Island right-of-way park mowing and landscape maintenance, and a dock repair project at Blythe Island Regional Park.

The procurement director said all paperwork will be reviewed by procurement staff and the project manager for accuracy and completion and that "the board of commissioners reserves the right to waive technicalities and make the award in the best interest of the county." He added that the lowest responsive bid may not be the recommended award and that the recommended award will be presented first to the finance committee and then to the Glynn County Board of Commissioners at the next scheduled monthly meeting.

Bids opened and read aloud by procurement staff (amounts as read at the opening): - Pest control services (annual contract): CDDR LLC — $5,399.80; Guardian Pest Services Inc — $7,692.00 (as read); Yates Astro Termite Pest Control — $8,820.08 (as read). - Tree maintenance and removal (multiyear contract): Jones Maintenance Company — $67,330.06 (as read); Montgomery Site Construction — $246,970.00 (as read); Tree Works Ltd — $64,531.80 (as read). - St. Simons Island right-of-way park mowing and landscape maintenance (single contract): Coastal Grainery (as read) — $164,280.00 (as read); Outdoor Living Southeast Inc — $111,900.00 (as read). - Blythe Island Regional Park dock repair project: CWA Development — $48,970.04 (as read).

Procurement staff provided a contact for questions and further information, listing the procurement email as rtalbert@glynncounty-ga.gov. No awards were made at the bid opening; procurement staff said recommended awards will be returned to the finance committee and then to the Board of Commissioners for approval.
