The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the county’s cash and investment report during a special meeting on May 20, 2025, at the Santa Cruz County Complex.
The approval came after county staff presented balances and investment amounts for the county’s major funds. The report showed a total of $72,287,239.09 across all funds and an estimated end-of-month balance of $60,391,038, both figures presented to supervisors before the vote.
County staff member Mr. Chavez presented the figures. "The general fund has an overall balance of 23,862,954, with an investment amount of 16,214,761," he said. He also reported the road fund had an overall balance of 7,126,927, with an investment amount of 5,012,741; the flood control district an overall balance of 3,278,262, with an investment amount of $302,095; and the jail district fund an overall balance of 7,529,154 with an investment amount of 5,299,271. "Total for all funds, $72,287,239.09. With an investment amount of 28,904,805. For an estimated end of the month balance of 60,391,038," he added.
After presentation, a supervisor moved to approve the finance report as presented and the board voted unanimously to adopt it. The meeting record notes no further discussion on the report.
The vote followed routine procedural approvals earlier in the session, including adoption of the meeting agenda and a consent agenda; all procedural motions passed unanimously as recorded.
