Lake Forest Park judge grants deferred findings, community service and reduced fines in infraction calendar

Judge Jennifer Grant handled a May 21, 2025 infraction calendar in Lake Forest Park Municipal Court by offering deferred findings and community-service options to some defendants, reducing fines for others and rescheduling one contested matter to August.

The deferred-finding option — which the judge described as “an opportunity to keep this off your driving record if you maintain 6 months without any moving infractions, and you pay a $175 admin fee” — was offered to Sachiko Smith and Carolyn Payne; both accepted community service in lieu of paying the administrative fee and must complete the court’s requirements to avoid a finding of commitment. Judge Grant told the defendants the court would perform an administrative review in six months and would dismiss the case if they were in compliance.
