Staff requested direction on methods of disposition and recommended negotiating with Meisner Global as the LOI holder.
Public comment and deed restriction: Resident Susan Oyer spoke strongly against selling the land, saying the parcel contained "one of the last pieces of virgin forest in our county" and called for preservation. Staff confirmed there is a recorded deed restriction for public purpose on Parcel 1 only; the other parcels do not carry that restriction, staff said.
Action and direction: Vice Mayor Woodrow Hay moved to approve Resolution R25-135 declaring the parcels surplus and to direct staff to negotiate with the LOI holder; Commissioner Angela Cruz seconded. Commissioners approved the motion unanimously. Later clarification confirmed the motion included direction to negotiate with Meisner Global.
