The Columbia River Planning Commission voted May 21 to rescind its April 15 approval of the March 20 joint meeting minutes and then approved the March 20 minutes with an exhibit attached.
The action followed guidance from Solicitor Gable after commissioners and staff concluded that the previously approved minutes did not record the decision made at the joint meeting. Chairperson Wickenheiser said the solicitor’s direction was to rescind the earlier approval and replace it with minutes that include the exhibit.
At the meeting Member TIFF moved to rescind the April 15 approval; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The commission then approved the March 20 joint meeting minutes, with an exhibit attached, on a subsequent motion and second.
Commissioners discussed that the March 20 minutes previously had only said the meeting "reviewed the light business" and did not state what was decided. Wickenheiser said Solicitor Gable advised the commission the absence of a recorded decision required rescission of the earlier approval and reapproval with the exhibit included.
No additional amendments to the March 20 minutes were recorded in the meeting transcript.
Minutes and the attached exhibit will be added to the public record as approved with the exhibit.
