Union County Transportation described as a lifeline for seniors, riders

Another staff member described the work as personally rewarding, saying it helps riders remain independent: “Hearing the stories from passengers describing how thankful they are for our service, describing our drivers as the most courteous people they know, always eager to help, it's how we enable people to remain independent regardless of their mobility needs,” Staff member 3 said.
Riders who spoke in the presentation confirmed the service’s practical impact. “It has really become an integral part of me being able to, take care of myself and get my medical situation taken care of on a regular basis. Transportation service is a fantastic thing for Union County. It's just great to get out,” said Resident 1, a transit rider. Another rider added: “It's really reliable and to make sure they get to your places on time and and safety is really good, and the drivers are friendly,” Resident 2 said.
Staff highlighted common trip purposes: doctor's appointments, grocery shopping and travel to a senior nutrition congregate meal site. “Whether you're heading to a hot meal, a health visit, or just catching up with friends, Union County Transportation is here to get you there. Union County Transportation, more than a ride, it's a connection to what matters most,” Staff member 4, Union County Transportation representative, said.
