City clerk outlines staffing, flags 2026 municipal election cost estimate

She told commissioners that for fiscal year 2026 the city should expect approximately $160,000 for election expenses; she said that figure came from an estimate provided by the Supervisor of Elections.
A commissioner asked about a decrease in service revenue and Givings replied that projected lien-related revenues were lower than budgeted in 2025, leading to the downward adjustment. The clerk said she would answer further questions and that the office had recently added an administrative office coordinator.
Givings closed by noting backup material in the packet showing the office’s line-item comparisons and said staff will provide additional detail if commissioners request it at future budget workshops.
