The board then held votes to elect officers for the coming year: a motion to elect Wendy Litsky as board treasurer was approved 8‑0, and a motion to elect Sheree McGivaney as board secretary also passed 8‑0. "All those in favor? Motion passes," the chair announced after each vote.
Personnel item 10.01 was approved by an 8‑0 vote, and the board accepted the first reading of policy 11/2001 on a unanimous voice vote. No individual roll‑call votes were read into the record during the meeting; each action was recorded as passing 8‑0.
In board comments, a board member noted the district posted the budget on public notice with a proposed 3.48% tax increase and a total proposed budget of $133,358,544. The board member said the budget is on the district website and a hard copy is available at district offices and reminded that the final budget could change before formal adoption. "The budget is on public notice of intent to adopt at the June 2 special board meeting with a tax increase of 3.48% and total budget of $133,358,544," the board member said.
