Spokane introduces new HR director Lisonbee Adam to Civil Service Commission

At the Spokane Civil Service Commission meeting on May 20, 2025, commissioners welcomed the city’s new human resources director, Lisonbee Adam, who introduced herself and summarized her background.
“Good morning, commissioners. So I joined the city in mid November. I my family just relocated to Spokane in the last month. So I'm now physically here every day of the week, for the most part. So excited to be here,” Adam said.
Adam told commissioners she has more than 20 years of experience in human resources in the manufacturing and health-care sectors and said she is enjoying learning city processes and getting to know the civil service team. “I've been in HR for more than 20 years, serving in manufacturing sector and the health care sector prior to coming to the city of Spokane. So a lot of different experiences from that. But really enjoying the team here and getting to know the city, the city processes, civil service, all the uniqueness that makes the city of Spokane,” Adam said.
A commissioner praised the HR staff during the introduction, saying, “You have a wonderful team in HR,” and another commissioner noted the Civil Service Commission sees itself as collaborative and supportive of HR work.
The introduction was informational; no formal action was taken. Commissioners and staff said they look forward to working with Adam as she settles into the role.
