The Finance Committee recommended City Council approve one-year renewals for employee group health and dental benefits administration: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming as third-party administrator (TPA) for medical benefits and Delta Dental for dental benefits.
Darren Hass, Human Resources director and chair of the Employee Benefit Advisory Team, said Blue Cross has been the TPA partner for six years and Novo Benefits performed vendor analysis; staff reported the city’s self-funded health account balance was about $4.37 million and that open enrollment activity has been strong (120 employees had enrolled early and staff provided multiple enrollment sessions). The committee heard that dental costs were projected to increase about 6% and that Novo Benefits will continue providing consulting under a separate multi-year agreement. The committee voted to recommend approval of the renewals and forward the contracts to City Council.
