Commission consolidates master plan and park enhancements ad hoc committees to align planning and improvements

The Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Commission voted May 19 to consolidate the master plan ad hoc committee and the park enhancements ad hoc committee into a single committee to coordinate master planning and park-improvement efforts.

Commissioners and staff said the committees have overlapping work — including programming, shade and access, and coordination with sustainability and other city initiatives — and that merging the groups would add voices to conversations and reduce duplication.
