City staff said the parcels came into the city's jurisdiction during annexation and were assigned Industrial 1 zoning historically; P&Z recommended the correction to institutional to match the property owner and use. "All we're doing or asking is the planning zone recommends to change that zone on those 2 parcels to institutional, which is appropriate, you know, because this is a non profit soccer association that owns those land," a staff presenter said.
Councilman Strong moved approval and Councilman Searcy seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote. No amendments or conditions were imposed.
The change is administrative and aligns the zoning map with the soccer association's nonprofit, institutional operation. The council did not request further study or changes at the meeting.
