Committee sends online all-in pricing bill to floor after adopting two amendments

The A7 amendment carved out certain service fees calculated by distance or purchaser selections that must be shown before the customer proceeds to agree to a purchase, responding to industry concerns about variable pricing. The A8 amendment delayed the bill’s effective date to January 2026 to give businesses more time to comply. Committee members debated workability; Representative Kate said she was concerned about the practical ability to advertise an "all-inclusive" price given variable handling and shipping costs and voted no on final passage.
After roll-call votes adopting the amendments and advancing the bill, Chair Sosa said Representative Walters would carry the bill to the House floor.
