House committee adopts amendment and advances HB 2095, a technical 'fix bill, to the floor

The House Committee on Revenue on May 20 completed a work session on House Bill 2,095 and approved the bill as amended for referral to the floor.
Kyle, legislative staff presenting the bill, told the committee HB 2,095 is primarily a technical "fix-it" measure that updates statutory references, extends sunset dates for a couple of credits, and deletes an obsolete reference to the Internal Revenue Code. "The fiscal is expected to be minimal," Kyle said, and staff noted previously included estimates had already incorporated the sunset extensions.
Vice Chair Walters moved to adopt the dash-2 amendment dated April 29, 2025; the motion passed. Walters then moved the committee to report HB 2,095 as amended to the floor with a do-pass recommendation; the committee approved that motion as well.
There was no recorded roll-call vote in the work session transcript; the minutes show the motions passed on voice vote. The committee scheduled no additional committee referrals for the bill and closed the work session.
The bill and the adopted amendment do not include any new major policy changes, according to staff; their presentation characterized the measure as corrective statutory housekeeping ahead of floor action.
