PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. — The Port Washington‑Saukville School District board on May 19 approved the first reading of Neola‑recommended policies covering the 7000s (property and technology) and the 8000s (operations/community relations).
Policy committee members and district counsel reviewed the packet and made targeted edits, including removal of obsolete references to beepers and pagers and restoration of an administrative title change in policy 7450 that had been reverted earlier in the review process. The committee chair said staff received clarification from Neola’s representative on several items and that the revisions move the policy manual closer to compliance with current state and federal law.
The board voted to accept the first reading coming out of committee; the motion carried by voice vote. Committee members thanked Neola and staff for extensive work on the review and noted they are close to completing the full policy update.
