Clover Park School District board approves ParentSquare communications contract not to exceed $100,100

The Clover Park School District board of directors on May 12 unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the district to contract with ParentSquare for communications services at a cost not to exceed $100,100.
Superintendent Banner said the action responds to a board direction to upgrade the district’s website and to consolidate communication platforms. “After reviewing several platforms, the district identified ParentSquare as the most advantageous solution with respect to communication, integration, security ease security, ease of use, and cost effectiveness,” Banner said. “Approval of this resolution authorizes the district to contract with ParentSquare for the services outlined in the resolution for the cost not to exceed $100,100 and I recommend approval of this action.”
A board member asked about the district’s current system cost; Banner replied it was “around 50.” A board member summarized that the new contract therefore represents roughly a $50,000 additional cost compared with the district’s current platform. Director Kim moved approval; Director Caldwell seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Why it matters: Consolidating communications on a single platform can change how families and staff receive notices, translations and emergency alerts. The superintendent cited integration, security and usability as reasons for the selection; the contract amount and the incremental cost compared with the existing system were discussed during the meeting.
The resolution delegates contracting authority to the district to implement ParentSquare services; the board did not attach additional conditions or a phased rollout schedule at the May 12 meeting.
