Mayor Ryan J. Schroeder presented a proclamation recognizing May 24, 2025, as Community Action Day to honor the 60th anniversary of Community Action Incorporated (CAI), which the proclamation said was established in 1965 to combat poverty in Rock and Walworth Counties. The proclamation and accompanying remarks noted CAI programs including Twin Oaks Shelter and other services that have assisted households in the community.
The mayor invited residents to CAI’s official anniversary celebration at Telford Park in Beloit on the coming Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., where the proclamation said there would be free food, performances and activities. Council members and staff publicly encouraged attendance and thanked CAI for its work in the community.
