The updated MOU allocates the cost of an additional SRO across the school and village with a stepped schedule: the school’s share would increase in stages (55% to 60% to 65% per the MOU timetable). The MOU also addresses fund-80 accounting and procedures for extended officer leave.
Trustees discussed duties, summertime assignments and rotation lengths. Police explained SROs are dedicated to schools when classes are in session and may rotate back to patrol during the summer. The board approved adding the extra officer and then approved the MOU subject to minor grammatical corrections; trustees agreed the MOU provides a framework for cost sharing and operation.
