A board member said a real-estate agent raised the concern after seeing properties with green lawns that come down to the shoreline. Members acknowledged enforcement is difficult but said public outreach about alternatives to high‑nitrogen lawns could help reduce nutrient loading to harbor waters.
Members proposed putting the issue under “health of the harbors” in a future meeting and suggested inviting health, Natural Resources and conservation partners to discuss educational strategies and potential incentives. No enforcement action or new regulation was adopted at the meeting.
