The HTC Sign Advisory Committee recommended that the full board approve two exterior banners for 50 Broad Street after the applicant described visual revisions at its May 20, 2025, remote meeting.
The change was presented by applicant Ashley Santos, who said the design team made the banners identical on both sides, reduced the image opacity by about 30–40 percent, and cropped out the brighter quilt squares so the banners blend with the brick. Santos also said the banners use identical wording on both sides to show the exhibit name and the phrase “featured exhibition.”
Committee members said the revised banners addressed previous concerns. Kevin Koester moved for approval; Mark Gatone seconded. Roll-call votes were recorded as aye from Ben Norman, Paul Wolf, Mark Gatone and Kevin Koester. The committee’s action is a recommendation to the full board; final approval rests with the board that reviews sign applications.
Santos said the applicant removed several post signs the previous week and would follow up with staff member Nikki with photographic proof.
The committee’s recommendation advances the application to the next step in the local review process. The full board will consider the committee’s recommendation at a future meeting.
