St. John Park Board adopts 2025–2030 parks and recreation plan

The Town of St. John Park and Recreation Board on May 20, 2025, adopted Resolution 2025-05-20 approving the 2025–2030 St. John Parks and Recreation Plan.
Board members voted 4-0 to adopt the plan, which the town developed with consultant CharterPoint and presented at a recent open house. Staff said adoption will allow the town to revisit its impact fee schedule.
Sam (parks staff) said, “the town has been working with CharterPoint over the last couple of years, to create a recreation plan.” The board’s motion to adopt the resolution passed after a motion by Eric Villisca and a second by Pat Connolly; the vote was recorded as 4-0 in favor.
Board members described the plan as the basis for future project prioritization and funding discussions. Sam told the board that, once the resolution was adopted and the plan finalized, the town would be able to review and update its impact fee. No specific changes to the impact fee were proposed at the meeting.
The board took no additional formal actions tied to the plan at the meeting; next steps noted by staff include finalizing the document for publication and using it as the basis for administrative updates and future budget requests.
