The Cumming City Council directed staff to reappoint Councilman Cochran and Councilman Lott as the city’s delegates to the joint Forsyth County–City of Cumming Land Bank Authority.
A staff member explained the land bank’s purpose is to help return tax-delinquent or problem properties to productive use and noted the authority’s work on a particular project is nearing fruition. The staff member said the land bank attorney advised that the city should reappoint its members periodically.
Councilman Cochran said he was glad to serve again but invited others to volunteer. A councilmember moved to reappoint the two councilmen; a second was recorded. The motion carried with the council recording the approval (vote recorded as carrying with three affirmative votes in the transcript).
Staff did not indicate the length of the reappointment terms during the presentation; council members retained the option to change delegates in future meetings.
