The Page County Board of Supervisors accepted a sealed bid of $51,000 from Jeff Williams for county property and agreed to place a formal resolution to finalize the sale on the agenda at next week’s meeting.
The sealed-bid public hearing opened at the start of the meeting. Two bids were announced: one from Jeremy Pritchett of Essex for $42,601 and a second from Jeff Williams for $51,000. The board voted to accept the $51,000 bid. The board then closed the public hearing.
Although the board accepted the winning bid during the meeting, members agreed not to execute a resolution at that session. County staff recommended placing the formal resolution on the agenda for the next board meeting so the record will reflect the publication notice, sale amount and the roll-call vote. Staff said they will contact the winning bidder in the interim and start preparing a purchase agreement and deed.
The board recorded that the notice of public hearing had been published and that the public hearing and acceptance of bids had occurred; the resolution to finalize the sale will be presented for signature at the next scheduled board meeting.
