Revere School Committee votes to opt out of state school-choice program

Superintendent Kelly framed the recommendation as longstanding: “...we not engage in school choice as our schools are all overcrowded to begin with. We don't have room to admit kids from other districts,” she told the committee during the public hearing portion on the item.
Committee members indicated the vote reflects current space and planning constraints; the decision will be revisited annually under state rules requiring local action each year.
