The board was presented with multiple quotes; the transcript records the lowest bid as $63,810, though the vendor name was unclear in the audio. The new CTE director, Mr. Williams, assisted in collecting vendor quotes and local comparisons, including a recent replacement at Carbondale.
Board members voted unanimously to approve the Health Life Safety amendment and to accept the recommended quote. The motion to approve the amendment and the purchase passed with all members present voting yes.
Staff said the replacement is considered an emergency use of Health Life Safety funds because of the system’s potential for causing fire or other catastrophic outcomes if left unaddressed. District staff will proceed with the procurement and scheduling of the replacement work and return to the board with any required contract documents and expected timelines.
