Traffic study recommends speed-hump changes at Hewitt-Trussville High; board urged approval in arrears

Dr. Martin described possible changes including a speed hump on the road into the high school and an additional traffic treatment near the Husky Parkway intersection where campus traffic exits to a signal. He said the study was done last week and recommended approval of the consultant’s suggestions.
The district placed the traffic study approval on the consent agenda and the board approved the consent items by voice vote. Administrators said the goal is to soften traffic patterns at the high school to improve safety for students and staff; timing and specific roadway work will proceed in coordination with appropriate city or transportation authorities.
