Senior Planner Joy Tsai said the applicant requested the extension to allow additional coordination with the Imperial Irrigation District regarding electrical‑capacity issues and to complete remaining final‑map submittals to city engineering. The tentative map, originally approved by council in February 2023, proposes nine single‑family lots and common parcels for a private street and retention basins.
Staff recommended revising condition of approval No. 3 to reflect a new approval expiration date and adding condition No. 11 to prohibit issuance of grading permits prior to vertical development entitlements unless approved by the public works or development services director. The planning commission recommended the two‑year extension and filing of a Notice of Exemption under CEQA Guidelines section 15062 on April 24, 2025.
No members of the public spoke on the item. The council approved the extension and directed staff to file the notice and to apply the revised conditions of approval; the motion carried 5‑0.
