Struthers salon owner highlights services, local roots during council public comments

Natasha DeCross, owner of Glamations Nails, told the Struthers City Council during public comments that she opened her salon in November 2020 and wants the community to know about the range of services the business offers.

DeCross, who said she is licensed and has been in the industry about five years, told the council her shop provides nail services including gel manicures, gel polish, acrylic and dip nails, as well as pedicures and tanning. “We opened in November of 2020,” she said. “We offer a lot of nail services anywhere from gel manicures to gel polishes to acrylic.”

The salon, she said, also offers additional beauty services through a licensed cosmetologist on staff, including waxing. “We have one of my nail techs is a cosmetologist, so she offers a lot more services in her field that she is licensed to do,” DeCross said, describing services she believes the community does not fully know the salon provides.

DeCross said she lives in Struthers and that her children attend Struthers schools; she described the business as a local venture intended to serve the tight-knit community. “I just wanted to stay close to home and stay in the community to where I felt like they would all give really good support, which they have,” she said.

Her remarks were made during the council’s public comment portion; no council action was taken on the remarks. The comments served to introduce the business to elected officials and to request broader community awareness of its services.
