The Benton County Board of Supervisors approved a change to the county wellness policy that clarifies documentation requirements for full-time employees who are not covered by the county’s health insurance.
Wellness-committee staff told the board the change requires employees not covered by county insurance to provide proof of a physical with lab work, on physician letterhead, by Dec. 1 to qualify for a wellness day off. The change aligns documentation required of non-covered employees with the county-insured employees’ standard and establishes a clear deadline so staff can confirm compliance before wellness-day awards are distributed early next year. Employees who already turned in a doctor's note that does not meet the new form/letterhead requirement will be grandfathered in.
Supervisor discussion called for coordination with department heads to increase participation in wellness programs and to provide computer access at all-employee meetings for those without county email to complete online assessments. The board voted to adopt Resolution 25-38 to update the wellness-day documentation rule; supervisors voted in favor.
