City authorizes $52,949.67 ComEd contract for Business Park 3 substation work

City Administrator Dawkins explained the council previously authorized a letter of agreement and deposit in August; after applying that deposit the remaining balance is $12,949.66, yielding a final cost of $52,949.67. Dawkins said ComEd will begin construction activities as soon as the signed contract is returned.
Superintendent Holton was present to answer operational questions but the council had none. The mayor moved approval and Alderman Bowering seconded. The council approved Resolution 2025-48 by roll call (10-0).
The resolution authorizes execution of the ComEd contract and directs staff to return the signed contract so ComEd may begin construction. The council’s action completes the city’s contractual obligations tied to the previously authorized deposit and the final invoiced amount.
