Following an executive session that the board convened under Texas law for personnel and real-property matters, Bay City ISD trustees returned to open session and approved two actions by unanimous vote.
In open session the board voted to approve hiring contractual personnel as presented; the motion passed 6–0. The board then voted to authorize the board president to proceed as discussed in closed session regarding selection of a new superintendent; that motion also passed 6–0.
The board had identified the closed-session topics on the public agenda, citing Texas Government Code §551.074 (personnel matters) and §551.072 (deliberation regarding real property). The executive-session agenda referenced personnel matters including appointment of a superintendent and possible sale, lease or donation of property identified as the former Robert Elementary School (legal description noted as Woodson S/G Lot 6, Matagorda County appraisal district ID 49018 on 11.1 acres). Trustees did not disclose further closed-session deliberations beyond the public motions the board approved in open session.
The two public votes were recorded in open session by roll call and each passed 6–0.
