Council approves public hearing and finance referral for Cobb Street right‑turn lane; schedules traffic‑calming hearing on Oxmoor Road

"Right turn lane on Cobbs Street," President Jones said while clarifying the referral. The referral will send request and funding for a survey to the finance committee.
On traffic calming, the Public Safety committee carried the item in committee and the council set a public hearing for July 14 at 6 p.m. to consider installation of a traffic‑calming system near Northmore Drive and Oakmore Drive. The committee reported a carry and a recommendation to set the hearing; the council approved the hearing by unanimous vote.
No final construction contracts or funding appropriations were approved at the meeting; council members referred funding decisions to finance and set the public hearing to gather public comment and committee reports.
