County accepts $115,000 in state funds for school-based mental health at Valley Central and Port Jervis

Committee presenters said Valley Central Middle School was allocated $25,000 by the state; Port Jervis High School and Port Jervis Middle School were allocated $45,000 each, for a total award of $115,000 (legislative request number 121). The committee approved the request by voice vote.
Presenters stated the funds will be used to open or expand school-based satellites and said these satellites were not in place when the county first started its program but have accelerated access to services once established. No additional conditions or follow-up votes were recorded at the meeting.
