Carmel moves ahead on Michigan Road water main work; city accepts sewer lines via easement

Lane Young, the city's director of utilities, told the board the Michigan Road project comprises several segments and that TPI submitted the lowest responsible bid at $2,044,880; the board accepted the recommendation and approved the contract award.
Young also described an easement agreement with BMF to Gramercy LLC that allows the city to take over sewer mains that previously were private while noting the city already owned the manholes. "This easement enables us to do that," Young said, adding that the arrangement transfers responsibility for the sewer lines to the city.
Both items were moved, seconded and approved by the board by voice vote; the chair noted the motions carried.
