District highlights nearly $1.8 million in scholarships, youth apprenticeship and summer events

She asked students and parents to send thank-you notes to donors and noted a new internal dual-enrollment scholarship that reimburses up to $200 for fall dual-credit classes.
Superintendent-level remarks by Scott (presenting a President's Report-style update) emphasized declining enrollment as an ongoing concern but celebrated programs and partnerships. Scott noted the youth apprenticeship program involved 52 juniors and seniors who logged more than 20,000 hours and earned more than $300,000 in wages collectively.
Other items included Community Education announcements from Sally about 33 class opportunities and summer athletic camps, Family Resource listings from Kathy for library and summer playgroup events and a tech-ed competition in which district teams placed near the top at Road America. Middle school student council fundraising sold 2,200 Kringles and raised nearly $10,000, the board heard.
Board members encouraged community celebration of these programs. The meeting summary included reminders: graduation is scheduled for June 1 at 2 p.m., and the final student day is June 6.
