The Riverton City Council voted May 20 to authorize the city administrator to begin contract negotiations for the top-ranked candidate for the Public Works director position.
After convening an executive session under Wyoming statute to discuss personnel matters, Councilman Mike Bailey moved — and Councilman Kyle Larson seconded — that the administrator proceed with contract negotiations for the highest-ranked applicant. The motion passed unanimously on the record.
Council members and staff did not disclose the candidate’s name at the May 20 public meeting. The vote was taken after the council reconvened from executive session at 9:26 p.m., and the administrator confirmed he would proceed with the negotiations as directed.
No further action or terms were announced at the meeting; council members moved to adjourn immediately after the motion.
