Board approves multiple curriculum proposals including elementary integrated and middle-school ELA

Celia Banks, director of curriculum and instruction, and Brian Tennyson, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, presented the elementary integrated curriculum proposal with an implementation cost of $2,882,573.42 and annual consumable costs of $149,070 thereafter; the board approved the motion by roll-call vote.
The board also approved the elementary library and media curriculum proposal with implementation costs of $1,814,910.39 and annual consumable cost of $41,780; and the middle-school English language arts curriculum with implementation costs of $2,440,670.30 and annual consumable costs of $219,930. Both motions carried on roll call. The high-school freshman seminar curriculum was approved with no associated implementation costs.
Speakers said funding for these adoptions is included in the district’s budget for the 2024–25 and 2025–26 fiscal periods as applicable. Board roll-call votes recorded unanimous approval for each listed item.
