Board approves library tax budget and accepts community donations to Madison schools

The Madison Local School District board approved the Madison Public Library fiscal‑year 2026 tax budget at its May 19 special meeting and accepted a slate of donations to district schools.
The donations accepted on the consent agenda included $500 from the Kiwanis Club of Madison to Madison High School for ecology projects; $60 from Bill and Joe Hudson to Madison High School for student fees; $200 from Andrew and Lisa Rasch to Madison High School for senior fees; $423 from McDonald’s to South Elementary to be used as needed; and two $250 gifts—one from Angela Smith and one from William and Sally Rogas—both to Madison High School for the Jeff Greer scholarship. The board and speakers noted Jeff Greer was an art teacher at Madison High School who passed away in February 2018 and that his family awards an annual scholarship; the presenter said the district and community had contributed funds and that prints of his 9/11 painting are in public collections.
