The School District U-46 Board of Education on May 19 voted unanimously to approve a five-year strategic plan developed with consultant Performance Fact, establishing districtwide goals, student outcome measures and an equity commitment for 2025–2030.
Emutu Fabahi, president and CEO of Performance Fact, presented the final plan and said it centers on a portrait of a U-46 graduate defined by five competencies: empowered leader, inquisitive thinker, collaborative communicator, tenacious learner and global change agent. The plan sets four districtwide goals: building early academic and social-emotional foundations; safety, belonging and inclusion; academic growth and mastery; and readiness for a diverse, changing world.
Administrators told the board the plan will be launched with district communications and professional learning: staff sessions are scheduled at an upcoming instructional conference, and the district will connect future board proposals, facilities work and measurable implementation milestones to the plan. Officials said a forward-facing monitoring platform will be developed and periodic updates — likely on a monthly cadence similar to facilities updates — will be provided to the board and public.
A motion to approve the strategic plan carried on a roll-call vote with all board members in favor.
District staff said the cost of the Performance Fact contract will be charged to education budget lines already included in the 2025–26 fiscal year.
