Committee recommends 8.1-acre split at Sailors Road for family transfer

The committee recommended approval and will forward the recommendation to the Board of Commissioners.
Eck said the split will allow her aunt—recently widowed—to create a manageable homestead parcel and reduce the burden of maintaining a larger property. She described an existing easement that provides access behind the parcel and noted an older campground access historically used for fishing provided a natural driveway alignment.
The public hearing produced no opposition. The commission voted to recommend approval and advised staff to process the application for presentation to the Board of Commissioners for final action.
